What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):Youll be joining CIBCs Global Operations and Intelligent Automation Technology (GOIAT). As an Application Developer, youll assist in developing, testing and supporting the implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Within a team of senior team members, youll broaden your technical skills and help build the bank of the future. The incumbent is responsible for the technical design and development of applications using various technology platforms. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions. The resource will work on augmenting manual operations activities with AI techniques to optimize data processing and decision making. The resource will also take on the role to identify opportunities to introduce GenAI within existing workflows within the applications.At CIBC India we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.Development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the banks vision, strategy, and business goals. Perform the role of a developer in multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.Leadership skills - Act as the Developer and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and work collaboratively with other developers and partners by sharing knowledge and involve in problem solving.Requirements Analysis: Track, analyze, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and modernization, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.Collaborates with peers both inside and outside the work unit to identify, discuss, and resolve business issues related to application development and delivery.Interacts regularly with clients, business partners, and technology teams for the purpose of negotiating, managing, and delivering services to agreed standards.Provides advisory and support services to contribute to the achievement of business improvement initiatives.Individual contributor roleWho You Are (Skills/Qualifications):Must Have Skills:5+ years development experience in: Java 8, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST API, MQ, JMS, SQL, MyBatis and Oracle Database.Strong knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes.Excellent technical and business communication skillsFamiliarity with infrastructure components (network, compute, storage, Oracle database).Experience with Waterfall & Agile methodologies.Good to Have:Experienced working with Azure Cloud, WebLogic and AI/GenAI tools.About CIBC:CIBC is a leading North American bank, with a history of more than 150 years of living our purpose - to help make your ambition a reality.
