What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):Youll be joining CIBCs Global Operations and Intelligent Automation Technology (GOIAT) Team. As a Senior Application Developer, youll assemble, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience .Youll be involved in the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of the applications. The role is responsible for technical design, development and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems and provide enhancements to existing technologies. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The role collaborates with developers, architects, business and infrastructure specialists to gather requirements and conduct research to evaluate the application of new and emerging tools and techniques, identifying patterns and best practices to consider in technology proposals while anticipating long term business issues. The resource will work on augmenting manual operations activities with AI techniques to optimize data processing and decision making. The resource will also take on the role to identify opportunities to introduce GenAI within existing workflows within the applications.At CIBC India we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.Involved in design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.Strategic planning Involved in developing multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the banks vision, strategy, and business goals. Develop multiple projects involving mid-tier and backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.Leadership skills - Act as a Senior Developer and involve in technical review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.Requirements Analysis: Track, analyze, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and modernization, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.Collaborates with peers both inside and outside the work unit to identify, discuss, and resolve business issues related to application development and delivery.Interacts regularly with clients, business partners, and technology teams for the purpose of negotiating, managing, and delivering services to agreed standards.Provides advisory and support services to contribute to the achievement of business improvement initiatives.Individual contributor role.Who You Are (Skills/Qualifications):Must Have Skills:7+ years development experience in: Java 8, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST API, MQ, JMS, SQL, MyBatis and Oracle Database.Strong knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes.Excellent technical and business communication skills.Familiarity with infrastructure components (network, compute, storage, Oracle database).Experience with Waterfall & Agile methodologies.Good to Have:Experienced working with Azure Cloud, WebLogic and AI/GenAI tools.About CIBC:CIBC is a leading North American bank, with a history of more than 150 years of living our purpose - to help make your ambition a reality.
