Atal Pension Yojana (APY)
Guaranteed monthly pension of ₹1,000–₹5,000 after age 60 for unorganised sector workers.
Eligibility Criteria
- •Age: 18–40 years (Indian citizens only)
- •Must have a savings bank account (nationalised bank or post office)
- •Must not be an income tax payer
- •Not covered by any statutory social security scheme (EPF, NPS, etc.)

Benefits & What You Get
Guaranteed fixed monthly pension of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹3,000, ₹4,000, or ₹5,000 starting from age 60, depending on contribution amount and age of entry. In case of the subscriber's death, the spouse receives the same pension; after both die, the nominee receives the accumulated corpus. Monthly contribution ranges from ₹42 to ₹1,454 depending on age and pension tier. Government co-contributed 50% of annual contribution (up to ₹1,000/year) for eligible subscribers who joined before 31 March 2016.
