Central scheme
₹6,000 per year transferred directly to the farmer's bank account in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each — one instalment every four months. The money is deposited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to eliminate middlemen.
Eligibility Criteria
- Small and marginal farmers owning cultivable land up to 2 hectares
- Must be an Indian citizen with valid Aadhaar
- Land must be in farmer's name (or jointly held)
- Excludes: constitutional post holders, serving/retired officers, income-tax payers, professionals (doctors, engineers, lawyers), retired pensioners earning ≥ ₹10,000/month
