Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)
Free LPG connection to BPL households to provide clean cooking fuel and improve women's health.
Eligibility Criteria
- •Adult woman from a BPL (Below Poverty Line) household
- •Must not already have an LPG connection in the household
- •Priority to: PMAY beneficiaries, SC/ST households, forest dwellers, tea garden workers, SECC 2011 listed families
- •Must have a valid Aadhaar card
Required Documents
- •Aadhaar Card
- •BPL ration card
- •Bank account details
- •Address proof
- •Passport-size photograph
- •Self-declaration of non-possession of LPG connection
Benefits & What You Get
Free LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) connection including a stove, first refill, and regulator at no cost. The deposit waiver (around ₹1,600) is provided as a loan recovered through subsequent refill subsidies. Beneficiaries can also avail EMI facility for the first 3–6 refills. The scheme aims to replace biomass/coal cooking to reduce indoor air pollution and deforestation.
